Day 4

Hello there everyone, here is day 4 of my personal challenge of using all my embossing folders, and this one is  a Tim Holtz texture fade from "Airmail and Compass Set", I will use the "Airmail" folder next, I used plain white card stock and shaded the card with Memento Ink Pad "Daffodil" and Distress "Vintage Photo" I also used a Cottage Cuts cutting die to cut the film strip out of black card stock, and one of Tim's Mover's and Shapers "Camera and Clock" which I cut out of Black and Silver cardstock, I used ordinary kitchen twine to wrap around the top with a gold shaded metal bead.   I am quite happy with this card which I feel would suit either a man or woman, thanks so much for visiting today, and also that your comments are greatly appreciated, I will not be blogging for the next week as I am flying out to Brisbane to visit my Daughter and her family for a week, so will catch up with you all then, Jasann

Happy Christmas

Hi there, Here is a Christmas card to enter into the challenge on 52 {Christmas} card throwdown, Theme Challenge "Christmas Candles/Lanterns"
http://52cct.blogspot.com.au and it is day 3 of my personal challenge to use all my embossing folders, I used a white card stock for the base and the topper, on the topper I cut out the centre with the largest die in Couture Creations "Victorian Rectangle" I cut it on my big shot with the usual tab 2, and shaded all the snowflakes and inside and outside edges with Memento Ink Pad "Bahama Blue", and for the inside I used an embossing folder that I got free with Quick Cards, with this folder I had to use the base only, no tab folders, it is a beautiful image, and to show the icy feel I shaded these with Distress Ink "Pumice Stone" and for the lantern I used an old 12" Sizzex Cutting Die in Black and Yellow card stock, this cutting die also needed only the base with no tabs, the pine needles were cut with a Memory Box Die, "Pine Needles, and the red bow was cut from Tim Holtz Bigz Die, "Retro Ornaments" and the sentiment is from a Spellbinders Christmas Collection Stamp Set, Thank you so much for visiting today, your comments are always welcome, Jasann

Crazy Birds!!!

Hi there, this is Day 2 for my hope to be able to use and go  through the drawer that holds my many embossing folders, going from front to back, these cards are  a white cardstock base, and the embossing folder is a Cuttlebug "Honeycomb", which would make a nice birdcage background, and I shaded it with a Memento Ink Pad "Dandelion" I stamped the two Birds and coloured them with Distress re-inker, adot on my craft mat, and used my water colour brush pen to apply it lightly, together with "Dandelion" on the other bird.   with both birds I used Ranger Crackle Accents for the eyes and used Ranger Liquid Perfect Pearls for the gravel and other little blue dots on the cards, with the sentiments, for the "Hello" I used an Elizabeth Crafts Cutting Die, and for the "Hello Friend" I used a very old Cuttlebug sentiment die, for the Celebrate Good Times I used a Die-namics die "Accent it-Celebrate", for the Balloon I used a stamp from an old Fiskars Stamp set and used Memento Bahama Blue, I sliced a piece on the top and bottom of the bird's wing and threaded the balloon string through the wing and put a little bit of cello-tape on the back to hold it in place, the words ere all shaded with Tim's ink pad "Faded Jeans" I shaded around the cards with the Memento Ink Pad "Dandelion"  Thanks for visiting, your comments are all greatly appreciated, and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Especially for you

Hello everyone, I decided that as I have so many embossing folders (nearly 100) I decided I would start at the front of the drawer holding them and make cards and go through them one by one and use them all, This is a folder I got free with a magazine, Australian Simply Cards, some time ago and haven't used it yet, it came with stamps as well as the embossing folder, I used distress inks to colour in the flowers with a water brush pen, I used "fossilised Amber", "Candied Apple" and "Twisted Citron" all of which with the water bruse gave a lovely pale image, I used one of the stamps in Distress Ink Pad "Evergreen Bough" and put three clear rhinestones on the card,  and shaded around the edges with Memento Ink Pad "Dandelion"  Hope you like these as much as I do, and also all your comments are gratefully appreciated, and also thank you so much for visiting today, Jasann

Hi Everyone, Here is this weeks entry in Merry Monday's Christmas Challenge #188,( Hot Brewies!!,)

hearts

Good Morning everyone, hope you day is a good one, there is lots of rain here, we had a very heavy thunderstorm last night where lots of people in the Hunter area lost roofs, fences, and trees came down, hope you all who suffered the effects of the storm will soon have everything sorted out   I saw this card on KittieKraft website, www.kittiekraft.com and really liked it so I decided to CASE it, I used a craft scissors to cut out the red topper which sits on top of a white card and used a piece of scrap paper that had remnents of overspray of Sunflower Sparkle, Liquid Pearls, and to cut out the hearts I used an old Cuttlebug cutting die 37-1226 Cocentric Hearts, this is a very old cutting die that I have had for donkeys years, I used a Spiral Flower Die from Creative Dies, and for the greenery I used a Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Left.  and three clear rhinestones to finish it off, thanks KittiKraft for your inspiration, and hope you all like my interpretation of her card and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Whimiscal Tree

Hi there everyone, it is a rainy day again and lots of places around me are underwater, but no one in any danger of harm, which gives me more time to play with my stash. I made these two cards, one for my stash and the other to put in a give box to give away, I always like to have a selection of cards I can give for a gift, and I am visiting my daughter in Queensland in a couple of weeks, so will take a box for her, even though I gave her a box of cards in with her Christmas Present, but I know she likes to use them for her friends, anyway, these two cards are on a white card base and embossed with an Mpress embossing folder "Heather Border" on one of these cards the embossing folder slipped over which left a space on the left of the page, so I cut a piece of cardstock that I had sitting on my work table and used double sided tape to stick it on, I think it looks okay, I then cut out a tree from SPellbinders Shapeabilities Die D-lights "Whimiscal Tree".  It is an intricate die and I found I had to use some baking paper and then the die and the cutting pads and then also an extra piece of card to use as a shim and roll it through my Big shot several times for it to come off the die easily.   I shaded the base of the tree with Distress ink "Vintage Photo" and the top with Distress Ink "Peeled Paint" I also shaded around the edges with "Peeled Paint"  and I used some tiny stars from my stash to decorate the tree.   Hope you all like this one, and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Christmas Soldier

Hi everyone, it is still raining here with floods this week and last week we were evacuated because there were fires, still this is Australia, and we lurch from fires and floods, we just get used to it.   Here is my card for today, another lovely little Tim Holtz Nutcracker soldier, the inspiration for this one came from Vicky at Clips N Cuts, she makes some beautiful cards, I used the  Tim Holtz stamp and paper pierced the various elements on him, and I made the post card, and as I have mislaid my Tim Holtz Distress tool I used the side of a pair of my scissors to distress the sides of the post card, The Post Card sign was stamped with Tim's stamp collection "City Central" and the writing on the stamp is from an old Stampendous stamp and the Merry Christmas came from an un-named stamp set that I have had for ages, the scrolls were cut with a Cheery-Lynn cutting die "Fanciful Flourish Left" and I used Gold Kindy Glitz for the glitter on the flourish, the cap feather, and the straps on the uniform.  Hope you all like it, and thanks so much for visiting me today, Jasann

Christmas Soldier

Hi there everyone, here is another card I made this afternoon, have plenty of time just now to play with all my craft items, as it is pouring down with rain at the moment, last week we had Bush Fires coming up to the back fence and now we have floods, I made this card following the instructions from Vicky at Clips N Cuts, she makes some beautiful cards and journal pages, I followed all her instructions and am very happy with the result.  Thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

white on white

Good Morning everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.   I am starting on my Christmas Cards for 2016, with this entry in Merry Mondays Challenge #186, white on white, you can use neutrals, browns, golds, grey, black or silver with the whites. http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com  I used a Tim Holtz texture fade, Snowflakes and a Marianne's Creatables Chapel, SLR0254, this is a great cutting die, you can use it for so many occasions, I used a piece of grey office paper for the bell tower, and lace for the chapel windows, I also used an old stamp for the sentiment and the tree, I have lost the package so have no idea who the manufacturer was, I also used Chromacryl Texture paste for the snow, and the sentiment and tree were coloured with a distress marker "Hickory Smoke", I like these markers because they are so versatile. I also used a texture fade "Diamond Plate" for the texture on the chapel.  Thanks so much for visiting today, and hope you have a great one, Jasann

Thank you all so much for all your lovely comments, they are greatly appreciated!!!!!
